About freelance websites

Regarding my previous post about getafreelancer, it seems that my situation isn’t remote (check the screenshot on the right):

I could not figure out how to delete this account. I have seen projects on this site for full-time work at $2.00/hour. This site is useless for working citizens in first-world countries like the USA or UK, and even in second-world countries, if you ask me.

I fully agree with his/her opinion. The freelance websites like rentacoder or getafreelancer have a specific target: freelancers starting out who can use some new experience with customers, selling their skills and making some income. But I cannot see any serious business surviving with those low rates (even in Romania).
